Hamburger Helper Crunch Taco Salad

Have you ever been at the store, picked something up, but hesitate to add it to your cart because you might already have it at home?

Guilty! I do it all the time, actually. Like last week, I hesitated buying taco shells, because I was certain I had an unopened pack at home.

Of course, a few days later when my husband suggested tacos for dinner, I looked in the pantry and found we were all out of taco shells. “No problem”, I say to myself, “I’ll use that bag of tortilla strips in the pantry and make a taco salad.” What was I thinking? Chips of any sort never last longer than a few days in our house!

But, I’d purchased a box of Hamburger Helper® Crunchy Taco at Walmart last week. (And, I used the Ibotta app and got a $0.50 cash back rebate!)

I still was set on making a taco salad, since I wanted to get some veggies in the dish. Here’s how it came together:

Ingredients

  • Hamburger Helper® Crunchy Taco
  • Lettuce
  • Avocado
  • Tomato
  • Onion
  • Sliced Olives
  • Sour Cream
  • Shredded Cheese

Directions:

1. Prepare Hamburger Helper® Crunchy Taco mix as per directions, but reduce water to 2 cups.

2. Tear or shred lettuce (or use bagged lettuce) and slice avocado, tomato and onion. Arrange in a bowl.

3. Scoop prepared Hamburger Helper® Crunchy Taco in the center of salad and top with shredded cheese, sour cream, olives and Crunchy Taco chips (included in the box)

4. Enjoy an easy meal that tastes great!
