Help Me Choose My New Frames from the Warby Parker Home Try On Program

Warby Parker Home Try On Program Review

Warby Parker Home Try On Program

I’ve worn glasses since I was about 10 years old. I tried contacts but hate things in/near/around my eyes ;) And, as I get older, there’s the added benefit that glasses provide — helping to hide those little lines around the eye area. Basically, I wear glasses because they’re super easy (and I’m super lazy busy) plus they add a bit of style to your look.

Buying glasses online is a great way to save money. But, it can be a little difficult to find the perfect frames for your face from a picture on a website. Some retailers offer a virtual try on, where you upload your picture (that’s always fun) and then add the image of the frames on top. That’s all well and good, but what really matters (once you’ve decide what shape of frames best suit you), is how THOSE frames actually fit your head.  And, that’s where your local optical shop usually has the upperhand over the online retailers.

Until now…

Here I am trying on my Warby Parker frames with the Home Try On Program… which one do you like best?

Warby Parker is a great alternative to overpriced eyewear. Warby Parker believes prescription eyewear should be stylish and not cost a fortune. The reason that glasses cost so much is that the industry is controlled by a few large companies who keep prices artificially high and continue to make huge profits in doing so. By offering prescription eyewear online, Warby Parker provides higher-quality, better-looking prescription eyewear for a lot less than your local optometrist. It’s no wonder that Eye Exams are so inexpensive (I pay about $65 in So Cal). The optometrist makes their money when they sell you the frames and lenses!

So, you want inexpensive prescription glasses, but want the perfect fit that you can only get by actually trying glasses on. Using the Warby Parker Home Try-On program, you can pick out your 5 favorite frames (this includes prescription and non-prescription, even Sunglasses!) to try-on and Warby Parker will ship them to you completely free. You’ll have 5 days to take them for a spin — maybe share them with your friends on Facebook and Instagram? ;)  Once you’ve selected your favorite frames, you can purchase them at WarbyParker.com. Then, just pack up your 5 Home Try-On’s and ship them back to Warby Parker. Return shipping is free, too! Can’t beat that :)

The Warby Parker aesthetic is vintage-inspired with a contemporary twist. Every pair is custom fit with anti-reflective, polycarbonate prescription lenses and prices for a complete pair of glasses start at $95

One other thing I love about Warby Parker is that for every pair of glasses they sell, a pair is distributed to someone in need through non-profits like VisionSpring. Almost one billion people worldwide lack access to glasses. This means that 15% of the global population cannot effectively learn or work – a problem that Warby Parker is determined to address.

Warby Parker’s Home Try-On is completely free, but it does require that you enter a credit card before your Home Try-On’s are sent. Visit http://www.warbyparker.com/home-try-on for more info.

  1. OK, this is awesome. Cause I always spend WAAAAY too much on glasses and how cool they let you try them on first! That’s been the only thing holding me back from buying glasses online.
