I’m bought this as a gift, but was so intrigued I kept it for myself!
I let the candle burn for a few hours, but then I started to get antsy. My husband walked into the kitchen as I was pondering the quickest way to get to the ring. We discussed various scenarios, such as tilting it so the wax would melt closer to the ring side. He suggested boiling it! (!) I was sure the glass would break.
He said, “Oh no, it’s made to withstand heat”
I replied, “its made for a tiny flame surrounded by wax…not a pot of boiling water!”

He left for the post office and I continued to let it burn. I couldn’t take it any longer. I grabbed a fork and wedged it between the glass and the wax then started to dig. I was making quite a mess when he walked in and said, “let me do it” 
A few minutes later this came out.
