Recently, I had the opportunity to participate in a focus group through Adler-Weiner Research. I’m not sure how I was chosen, but I was contacted through email to see if I was interested in participating. While I don’t want to reveal what the product was, I can tell you it was a bakery item available in most grocery stores.
Adler-Weiner Research has offices in Los Angeles, Orange County, CA and Chicago. If you are near those locations and would like to participate, click here and fill out your profile. There’s no guarantee that you will be chosen, but you can’t be chosen without applying.
After the phone call they sent me a homework assignment. It took less than an hour to complete and involved sharing my experiences and a few photographs. Pretty simple.
I was to report to their location in Irvine, CA at a specific date and time for a group interview that was scheduled to last 2 hours. I arrived a few minutes early and began chatting with the other 6 ladies who were there for the same focus group. Coffee and snacks were provided.
Unfortunately, Adler Weiner over-recruits to ensure they have enough participants. I ended up not being chosen, which was a shame because I was actually looking forward to the process. I did however receive the rather nice compensation I was promised and also coupons for FREE product. Because I was not chosen I am back in the pool of candidates. (You are limited to participate once every 6 months), so there is a good chance I will be asked to participate again.
All in all it was a positive experience. Can’t wait for the next opportunity!
